About the Thomas fire:
The Thomas Fire is the largest fire in modern California history. The fire burned 281,893 acres and destroyed 1,063 structures. One civilian was killed after her car rolled over on a canyon road while fleeing the fire. A CALFIRE engineer from San Diego was killed north of Fillmore while attempting to flee from extreme fire behavior. Firefighters from Arizona, Washington, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah assisted in the battle of the Thomas Fire.
